Tidy up PDFs without installing software or uploading a single file

    Four tools in one

    • Merge — combine several PDFs in the order you choose: scanned documents, contract parts, a portfolio.
    • Split — pull out a range like "1-3, 7, 10-", or save every page as its own file.
    • Images → PDF — photos and scans become one page each, fitted to A4 or kept at their own size.
    • PDF → Images — render every page as JPG or PNG for slides, blogs and previews.

    How to use it

    1. Pick a job from the tabs at the top: Merge, Split, Images → PDF or PDF → Images. Files can be chosen with the button or dropped onto the dashed box.
    2. Merge — add two or more PDFs. Each one is listed with its name, page count and size; use ↑↓ to reorder and ✕ to remove. Merge & save downloads a file named after the first PDF with "_merged" appended and reports the total page count and size.
    3. Split — add one PDF and its page count appears. Type the pages you want and press Extract & save for a single PDF containing just those pages, or Save every page separately for one file per page ("name_1.pdf", "name_2.pdf" and so on). Above 50 pages you are asked to confirm first.
    4. Images → PDF — add any number of images; thumbnails appear in a list you can reorder. Choose the page size (same as image, A4 portrait or A4 landscape) and the JPG quality (50–100, default 85), then Save as PDF.
    5. PDF → Images — add a PDF and a preview card is built for every page. Use Save on a card for a single page or Download all for the whole set. Changing the format (JPG or PNG) or the resolution re-renders every page.

    1-3, 7, 10-combine several with commas or spaces. A page listed twice is included once, numbers beyond the last page are ignored, and an empty field means every page. Pages come out in the order you list them, so "3, 1-2" also reorders them.

    What "no upload" means

    Most online PDF sites upload your file to a server and promise to delete it later. Here the PDF is opened and rebuilt inside your browser (pdf-lib and PDF.js). Contracts, ID scans and payslips never leave your device, and it even works offline. Very large files (hundreds of MB) may be slow depending on your device's memory.

    How the processing works

    Merge and Split use pdf-lib to copy the page objects of the source PDF into a new document. Nothing is re-rendered, so text, vector graphics and embedded images stay exactly as they were. Images → PDF first draws each photo onto a canvas, which applies the rotation stored in its EXIF data and leaves that metadata (location, device) out of the output; images whose longer side exceeds 2400 px are scaled down to fit, then re-encoded as JPG at the quality you chose and placed on the page. A PNG source is embedded as PNG to preserve transparency, in which case the quality slider has no effect. With A4 selected, the page measures 595.28 × 841.89 pt (210 × 297 mm) and the image is fitted inside a 24 pt (about 8.5 mm) margin on every side, keeping its proportions and centered. "Same as image" creates a page whose point size equals the pixel size (1 px = 1 pt, i.e. 72 dpi). PDF → Images has PDF.js render each page onto a canvas and saves it as JPG (quality 90%) or PNG. A white background is painted first, so transparent regions come out white.

    Resolution options for PDF → Images

    Normalscale 1.5 — an A4 page becomes about 893 × 1263 px. Fine for screens, blogs and chat
    Highscale 2.5 — about 1488 × 2105 px. Slides and material people will zoom into
    Printscale 4 — about 2381 × 3368 px, equivalent to 288 dpi. Reprinting, tables with small type

    Higher scales mean larger files and longer rendering, so for a long document check it at Normal first and re-render only the pages you need at a higher setting. The processing libraries are downloaded the first time you use a tab; the files themselves still never leave your device.

    Good to know

    Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Merging copies the original pages, so there is no quality loss; Images → PDF lets you set the JPG quality to control file size. For heavy scans, shrink the images with the image compressor before bundling them.

    Frequently asked questions

    Why won't a password-protected PDF open?

    Encrypted files stop with the message "This PDF is password-protected". There is no way to enter the password here, so open the original in a program that can, save an unlocked copy and add that instead.

    I chose "Save every page separately" but only one file downloaded

    Browsers may ask whether to allow multiple downloads from one site when files arrive in quick succession. Allow it and the rest follow. Pages are saved about 0.3 seconds apart, so a long document takes a moment.

    Can I bundle iPhone HEIC photos into a PDF?

    Only images the browser can decode (JPG, PNG, WebP and the like) become pages. HEIC support varies by browser, so run them through the HEIC to JPG converter first to be safe.

    I merged the files in the wrong order

    Before saving, use the ↑↓ buttons in the list. If the file is already saved, load it on the Split tab and type the pages in the order you want, such as "3, 1-2"; the extracted PDF follows that order.
