How to play
You get three pieces at a time. Drag each one onto the 8ร8 board โ pieces can't rotate, so shape matters. When a full row or a full column is filled it clears and you score; clear a row and a column at once for a double. Three new pieces arrive once the tray is empty. There is no clock; the game only ends when none of the pieces in the tray fit anywhere.
Step by step
- Press START. An empty 8ร8 grid appears with three pieces in the tray below it.
- Drag a piece up onto the grid with your finger or mouse. A preview shows where it will land โ solid if the spot is free, faded if it overlaps or hangs off the board. Release to place it.
- Any row or column that becomes completely full disappears and adds points. Clearing a row and a column with the same piece shows "Double!".
- When all three pieces are placed, three new ones arrive. If none of the remaining pieces fits anywhere, the game is over.
- The result screen shows your score, lines cleared and pieces placed. Enter a nickname (up to 12 characters) to post the score to the global top 10.
The pieces
There are 23 fixed shapes: a single cell, bars of 2 to 5 cells (horizontal and vertical), a 2ร2 square, a 3ร3 square, four small L-shapes inside a 2ร2 box, four large L-shapes spanning 3ร3, and four J/L-shapes in a 2ร3 box. Which three you get is random each time, so a free 5-cell lane and a free 3ร3 pocket are the two things worth protecting.
Strategy for a high score
- Keep the board flat. Fill from one side and avoid leaving single holes โ the 3ร3 square and the 5-long bar need room, and a board full of 1-cell gaps kills you.
- Look at all three pieces first. Decide the order before you place anything; often the big piece has only one spot and must go first.
- Chase combos. Clearing lines on consecutive placements builds a streak multiplier, so set up two nearly full rows and clear them back to back.
- Save a corner for the 3ร3. That piece is the usual game-ender; keep one open 3ร3 pocket at all times.
Scoring
Each placed cell is worth points, each cleared line adds a bonus, and a streak of clears multiplies it. Under 800 is a warm-up, 2,000 is a good run and 5,000 or more is puzzle-master territory. Post your score to the global top 10 with just a nickname, or share a link and let friends chase your number.

Two lines cleared separately are worth 20; the same two cleared with one piece are worth 40. A placement that clears nothing resets the streak to zero, so a run of small "safe" placements costs you the bonus. The points earned pop up on the board ("+40 combo x3") each time lines vanish.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate a piece?
No. A piece is placed exactly as it appears in the tray. The L- and J-shapes come in all four orientations as separate pieces, so plan around the orientation you have rather than the one you want.
The piece hides under my finger on a phone
On touch screens the dragged piece floats a little above your fingertip, and the landing spot is always drawn on the grid as a preview. Watch the preview, not the piece.
Is there a timer or a life count?
Neither. The only failure condition is having nowhere to put any of the pieces in the tray. Take as long as you like on every move.
What happens if I press "New game" mid-run?
The current board is discarded and a fresh one starts. If you have already placed more than two pieces, a confirmation appears first. Your saved best in this browser and any leaderboard entry are unaffected.
