Free CPS test โ€” click as fast as you can for 5 or 10 seconds, get your clicks per second, your best one-second burst, and see where you land on the global leaderboard

How to use it

  1. Pick 5 s or 10 s on the title screen. Ten seconds is the default and the only duration that counts for the leaderboard.
  2. Press START. The pad reads "Click here to start" โ€” the countdown begins on your very first click.
  3. Time left, click count and live CPS sit at the top while the bar above them drains. Every click sends out a ripple with the running total.
  4. When time is up the pad says "Done!" and the result screen shows your clicks per second to one decimal, total clicks, best single second and personal best.
  5. Hit Try again, send the result with Share result, or โ€” on a 10-second run โ€” enter a nickname of up to 12 characters and Submit score.

What is a CPS test?

CPS stands for clicks per second. Minecraft PvP players, rhythm-game fans and anyone who has argued with a friend about who clicks faster use it as a quick skill check. Here the timer starts on your first click, the pad shows time left, click count and live CPS while you go, and at the end you get your average CPS plus the fastest single second of the run. Your best is saved in this browser and 10-second runs can be posted to the leaderboard with a nickname.

What is a good CPS?

With one finger most people score 4โ€“6 CPS. 6โ€“8 is fast, 8โ€“10 usually means jitter clicking (tensing your arm so the finger vibrates) or butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers on one button), and anything over 10 is drag-click territory or a very light mouse switch. Touchscreens read a little lower than a mouse, and the switch in your mouse alone can swing the result by about 1 CPS.

How to click faster

  • Use the fingertip, not the wrist. Anchor your forearm and move only the finger joint โ€” the rhythm stays steady.
  • Try butterfly clicking. Alternating index and middle finger on the same button can nearly double your CPS.
  • Go short. The 5-second mode ends before you tire, so scores run higher โ€” but only 10-second runs count for the leaderboard.
  • No auto-clickers. If the intervals between clicks look machine-perfect the submit button is hidden, and the server rejects anything above 25 CPS.

More speed tests

Curious about eye-to-hand speed rather than raw clicking? Try the reaction time test, check your mouse precision with the aim trainer, or test focus with the Schulte table. Share your result link and your friend gets a "beat it" challenge on their title screen.

Rules and grades

A click is counted the moment the left mouse button or a finger goes down; the right button is ignored and the context menu is suppressed. On a touchscreen only the first finger in contact counts, so two-finger tapping has to alternate rather than overlap. Clicks after the timer expires are discarded. CPS is total clicks divided by the chosen duration, and "Best 1 s" is the largest number of clicks that fall inside any one-second window of the run.

Leaderboard and the auto-clicker check

The ranked score is your 10-second CPS multiplied by 100 and stored as a whole number (7.3 CPS becomes 730), sorted highest first. Two checks run before you can submit: a CPS above 25 is treated as non-human, and a run of 15 or more clicks whose intervals have a standard deviation under 3 ms โ€” machine-regular spacing โ€” is flagged as an auto-clicker. A flagged run hides the submit form and is not saved as a personal best either. Human clicking always jitters by more than that, so genuine runs are practically never caught. The server additionally accepts only scores from 1 to 2,500 and at most five submissions per minute from one connection. Five-second runs are never stored as a personal best; they exist for sharing.

Frequently asked questions

Some of my clicks seem to be missing

Mouse switches have a debounce window that ignores extremely close repeat signals to stop contact bounce, and on some mice that window is long enough to swallow part of a fast burst before it ever reaches the operating system. On a touchscreen, overlapping fingers also lose the second contact โ€” alternate cleanly instead.

Why is there no leaderboard for the 5-second mode?

Short runs end before fatigue sets in and tend to read higher, so all ranked scores use the same 10-second duration to stay comparable. Use the share link to race friends on 5-second runs.

Where is my record kept?

Your personal best is stored only in this browser and reaches the server only when you press submit. Clearing site data removes it.
