The balloon popped!

0

A one-button flying game in the style of old feature-phone minigames. The moon bunny hangs from a yellow balloon; every tap puffs it up and lifts you, and letting go lets gravity pull you down. The whole job is matching your height to the gap between the cloud pillars. The rules take three seconds; passing ten is another story. Free, no install or sign-up, with a leaderboard by pillars passed.

How to play

  1. Press โ–ถ START and the bunny floats in the middle of the screen. Nothing falls until your first tap, so take your time.
  2. On a keyboard use Space or โ†‘ (W works too); on a phone tap anywhere. Each press gives one upward boost, then gravity takes over. Holding does not lift you further.
  3. Cloud pillars arrive from the right in top and bottom pairs. Pass through the gap for a point. Touching a pillar or dropping into the cloud sea at the bottom ends the run. The ceiling is closed, so you cannot escape upward.
  4. The result screen shows how many you passed. From 3 upward you can post it with a nickname (up to 12 characters), and Share result copies a link with your score.

Rules and tips

  • Speed and gaps. The gap starts at about 30% of the screen height and narrows to 20% as you score; speed rises about 1.5ร—. Pillar spacing stays constant, so find the rhythm.
  • Short taps, often. Several small taps hold a height far better than one big boost. Falling accelerates, so never let go for long.
  • Aim for the lower third of the gap. A tap sends you up, so entering low leaves room. Hugging the top edge means your next tap hits the upper pillar.
  • The sky turns from day to night as your score grows. Past 30 you fly under the moon and stars.

FAQ

Is this Flappy Bird?

Same family of rules. Tap to rise, release to fall goes back to feature-phone minigames, and this is that idea with a bunny and a balloon. The hitbox is a little smaller than the drawing to avoid unfair collisions.

Why does nothing fall before the first tap?

So the run cannot end before you are ready. Gravity and the pillars start with your first tap.
